Routine Vision Insurance vs. Medical Insurance
Most vision insurance companies will cover for a routine annual eye exam along with an allowance for material benefits towards glasses or contact lenses. Our staff will submit the vision insurance claim for you after a routine examination is performed by the doctor.
However, if any medical conditions or ocular pathology (diabetes, glaucoma, red eye, macular degeneration, retinopathy, etc) is present during the exam, the doctor will perform a comprehensive medical eye exam, and we will submit the insurance claim to your medical insurance for the examination and any necessary tests ordered. If this is the case, we may still apply the routine insurance material allowance toward your glasses or contact lenses purchase.
